Kindermusik of Clayton Mission Statement

Kindermusik® of Clayton provides music instruction to children, from birth to 8 years of age, through a variety of classes in Clayton, North Carolina. The Kindermusik® curriculum teaches an integrated, whole child approach to music education focusing on process rather than performance. It is a unique program of music learning and enjoyment that nurtures the total development of the young child. An integral part of each child’s experience is the focus on family interaction during class and the encouragement to continue the learning experience during the week, at home, so that music becomes a natural and important part of family life.

Kindermusik® of Clayton believes the parent to be the ultimate teacher and provides appropriate instruction and guidance for the parent to be successful in a musical environment. Kindermusik® of Clayton will provide each participant quality instruments and materials that are recommended by Kindermusik® International as a part of the Kindermusik® requirement.

Voice of Clayton Mission Statement

Voice of Clayton provides private vocal instruction to children 8 years old through adult. 30 minute, 45 minute and 60 minute lessons are available. It is recommended that only advanced students select the 60 minute option and all beginning students select the 30 minute option.

Proper posture, breathing technique, vocal strength and placement, and learning how to project your best sound are all focused on throughout the lesson time. Presentation and poise are also considered as lessons proceed. In addition, all students will receive information on vocal awareness and vocal health to maintain good habits in singing and protecting the vocal mechanism.

All students prepare vocal selections for presentation at the local Assisted Living Senior Center, and The Coffee Mill in December, and recital in May. Other singing opportunities are also considered. Competition is only recommended for those students who are advanced.

Thousands of years ago, Plato said it best,

"Music is a more potent instrument than any other for education."
