Julie Stewart directs the Homeschool Choruses for Johnston County Home Educators (JCHE)

Johnston County Home Educators (JCHE) sponsored Homeschool Chorus meets weekly from September to May (with a few Holidays at Christmas, New Years and Easter) on Mondays from 12:45-1:45 pm at First Baptist Church in Clayton, NC. This is a non-audition performance choir.

Currently our chorus is for 6 years old (must be able to read) through 14 years old. If we have enough interest we will split the group and have two choruses 6-12 and 13-18. If you have older homeschoolers who are interested please email here and we will keep names until we have enough.

Your child can expect a FUN, EXCITING, SELF ESTEEM BUILDING, MUSICAL EXPERIENCE. Parents are welcome to sit in on rehearsals. We will spend time on learning musical concepts, basic theory, how to breath, how to produce the best choral sound, and more. We will also play games, and the opportunity for solos and more will be made available at each concert.

The Chorus will perform at Festival of Trees in Smithfield, Clayton Senior Center, Homeschool Chorus Christmas and Spring Concerts, and possibly other events including the Homeschool State Convention, and end-of-year JCHE Celebration. Cost for JCHE Members is $40.00 per semester (13-15 rehearsals and 2-5 performances per semester), non-members $50.00; plus donation/love offering per semester for building usage at the church and  music fees that vary from $0-15.00 per semester. Payment plans are available. Semester fees may be broken into $5.00 weekly payments over the course of the first two months of each semester.
